Guy Ritchie to 're-imagine' Sherlock Holmes

"Ritchie has signed on to write and direct a reimagining of super sleuth Sherlock Holmes for Warner Bros. Lionel Wigram and Dan Lin are producing the movie, which takes its cues from a forthcoming comic that Wigram wrote as a selling tool for a new take on the classic Sir Arthur Conan Doyle character. The concept sees the character be more adventuresome and less stuffy than previous screen incarnations and mines on more obscure character traits."

'more adventuresome', 'less stuffy', 'selling tool' and 'obscure character traits'... we're doomed.

Well, Hollywood just has to ruin everything, you know. Oh well.

Iris,
sincerely
*headdesk*...

Then again, it can't be worse than "Sherlock".

I hope.
That really doesn't sound good at all...
I was wondering if you could help me figure something out. A bit of a mystery, if you will.

I am under the impression that you might be a member of Holmesian.net - I recall seeing a member name identical to yours as I browsed the site. If that is the case, you may be able to help me.

I signed up at Holmesian.net a few days ago, but my account was never verified by an admin. I could log in, as I had verified my email, but not post. Then today I emailed chatastic@hotmail.com, from where the welcome email originally came, and asked if they could verify my account so I could start contributing.

Hours later, I find that my account has not been verified, instead it has been completely erased.

I am therefore wondering if this means that Holmesian isn't welcoming new members. Do you know if this is the case?

Do you know of any other [more welcoming] Sherlock Holmes-related forums that I could perhaps join?

Thank you very much!
Not a member.

I refuse to go near that quagmire of awfulness. Too much having to wade through Mary Sue like adoration and being murder for having an opinion that isn't "omg irene alder and sherlock were totally hot for each other" (which they weren't...)

As for more welcoming there's only Holmesslash where the people there are great fun, intelligent and actually hold decent discussions.... Hounds-L gets fairly heated and head sore worthy and not that friendly with new people.

Thanks for your response. Sorry about the mix-up about your membership.

Do you have a URL for this Holmesslash? Running it through Google didn't produce any clear results.
Maybe you had a name they didnt like. :P I am quite sure megoobie and eers are HN members, though.
